WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 7/1/2012

Praise the Lord Saints, in and out of season, in good and bad times, if you want a blessing, praise Him, because you know all to well that when the praises go up,.. you got it, the blessings come down. We all have much to praise Him for. The Lord has led me back to the Book of Exodus, this time the 13 chapter. Here is the preaching text...

TEXT:Exodus 13:1-16
1 Then the Lord said to Moses,
2 “Dedicate to me every firstborn among the Israelites. The first offspring to be born, of both humans and animals, belongs to me.”
3 So Moses said to the people, “This is a day to remember forever—the day you left Egypt, the place of your slavery. Today the Lord has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand. (Remember, eat no food containing yeast.)
4 On this day in early spring, in the month of Abib,[a] you have been set free.
5 You must celebrate this event in this month each year after the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites. (He swore to your ancestors that he would give you this land—a land flowing with milk and honey.)
6 For seven days the bread you eat must be made without yeast. Then on the seventh day, celebrate a feast to the Lord.
7 Eat bread without yeast during those seven days. In fact, there must be no yeast bread or any yeast at all found within the borders of your land during this time.
8 “On the seventh day you must explain to your children, ‘I am celebrating what the Lord did for me when I left Egypt.’
9 This annual festival will be a visible sign to you, like a mark branded on your hand or your forehead. Let it remind you always to recite this teaching of the Lord: ‘With a strong hand, the Lord rescued you from Egypt.’
10 So observe the decree of this festival at the appointed time each year.
11 “This is what you must do when the Lord fulfills the promise he swore to you and to your ancestors. When he gives you the land where the Canaanites now live,
12 you must present all firstborn sons and firstborn male animals to the Lord, for they belong to him.
13 A firstborn donkey may be bought back from the Lord by presenting a lamb or young goat in its place. But if you do not buy it back, you must break its neck. However, you must buy back every firstborn son.
14 “And in the future, your children will ask you, ‘What does all this mean?’ Then you will tell them, ‘With the power of his mighty hand, the Lord brought us out of Egypt, the place of our slavery.
15 Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, so the Lord killed all the firstborn males throughout the land of Egypt, both people and animals. That is why I now sacrifice all the firstborn males to the Lord—except that the firstborn sons are always bought back.’
16 This ceremony will be like a mark branded on your hand or your forehead. It is a reminder that the power of the Lord’s mighty hand brought us out of Egypt.”(NLT)

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 6/17/2012

Praise the Lord people of God. What a mighty move of God last Sunday at our Youth Service when 15 young people came forward to receive Jesus Christ. It was a powerful illustration of how the Gospel can be shared in many different ways and be effective. We were blessed. This Sunday is Father's Day and I will have a message directed to the fathers, but also useful information for mother's as well. Here is the text...

TEXT: Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. (NLT)

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT:  Three ways that fathers can become "super-dads"

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let's teach our children that they all have a heavenly Father that loves them.

JUNE MEMORY VERSE: . Philippians 4:19
"...And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (NKJV)

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 6/10/2012

Giving honor to God, I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ. I don't know about you, but I am glad that we have a God that loves us and is ever-present. Aren't you? This Sunday we will celebrate, with great excitement and anticipation, Youth Sunday. Our young people have been working hard getting ready to lead us in every aspect of the worship service. It will not be your typical Sunday service, so pray for them, open your mind, and fasten your seat belt. I have every confidence in our young people and believe we are in for a powerful expression of worship. Here is their text and theme for the day...

TEXT: Psalm 40:3  He placed a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see this and worship. They will trust the LORD.

THEME: "Hyped-up Praise by the Future Church"

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT:  The Holy Spirit is still preparing it, but let me say that our guest preacher learned the Gospel in Zion's Sunday School, has developed the gifts that God has given, and has a powerful history of ministry to young people. (that's enough of  hint).

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let's teach our children to know the Gospel when they see and hear it. (i.e. learn not to accept substitutes that sound or look good--particularly important in choice of music)

JUNE MEMORY VERSE: . Philippians 4:19
"...And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (NKJV)

RESPONSIVE READING: 615 Christ's Concern for Children

Bless you people of God. Let's continue to lift each other up in prayer.

In Christian love and service,

Pastor W. C. Hill
