WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 04/17/2011

In all things, let us praise the Lord saints! The song writer said: "I've had some good days, and I've had some hills to climb. I've had some weary days and lonesome nights, but when I look around, and think things over, all of my good days outweigh the bad days, and I won't complain. So on the good days, let us praise Him, when climbing the hills, let us praise Him. In the midst of weary days and lonesome nights, let us continue to give God our praise. He's worthy.
This week we are going to be blessed with a Word from Rev Shprecher with his Palm Sunday message. Let us begin the celebration. Here is our text…

TEXT: Mark 11:1-11 (NIV)
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,
2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it,
5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”
6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.
7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it.
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.
9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”£
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: How we need to retell God’s story and celebrate God’s triumph until we get it right.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children learn to continue trying to do what is right until they get it right

RESPONSIVE READING: #605 Praising the Lord

MEMORY VERSE: 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strong holds(KJV)

NOTE: We lost our beloved brother Charles Dennis this week. Arrangements to celebrate his life are underway and planned for after Easter. Please keep Mamunie, Derrick, Ebony and the rest of the family in your prayers. Bless you people of God.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 04/10/2011

Praise the Lord people of God. If you are worried about something today, let me encourage you with the words Paul sent to the Philippians, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Why? Because there is nothing going on in you life right now that God can’t handle. So turn it over to Him, persevere, and have a good day! Perseverance will be our focus in the preaching this week. Here is our text…

TEXT: Jude 1:17-21 (NIV)
17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.
18They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.”
19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: Persevering in our faith

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children learn to stay faithful to what they believe about God. (i.e. what we are teaching them in Sunday School, Church, and Home)

RESPONSIVE READING: #585 God The Second Coming

MEMORY VERSE: 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strong holds (KJV)

Give glory to God saints! I greet you in the name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let me encourage you that in spite of your situation, remember that God loves you, today and everyday. In our spiritual life, memory can be a powerful tool for good, if used correctly, I hope to express that in this week's sermon. Here is our text…

TEXT: 2 Tim 2:8-10 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (NIV)

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: Why and how we can make it through life’s difficulties.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children learn to look to God for help in their difficult situations.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 03/20/2011

Give glory to God saints, give glory to God; I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ. Last week in our preaching and teaching, we looked at the qualities of a Christian leader (and all Christians) and the challenge was to have the courage to “be different” from the world. This week we will consider the priorities of the Christian leader (and all Christians). Here is the text…

TEXT: 1 Timothy 4:6-16 (NIV)

6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.
10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
11 Command and teach these things.
12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: The importance of keeping our priorities right.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children to learn to make God (and godliness) important in their lives

RESPONSIVE READING: #602 The Upright Man

NOTE: Pastors preaching engagements:
Third Baptist Church, Lawrence, Thursday, March 17th at 7 PM. (Male Chorus) van leaving Zion at 6 PM
Zion Baptist Church, Everett, Sunday March 27th at 3:30 PM (P&W Team) transportation TBD.
Your continued support is appreciated. Bless you.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 03/13/2011

Praise the Lord Saints! To God be the glory, for he is worthy of all our praise! This week our preaching /teaching focus, is on a requirement for the people of God to be “different” as illustrated in the list of leadership qualities Paul gives Timothy, a young Pastor at Ephesus. Here is the text…

TEXT: 1 Timothy 3:1-16
1 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

8 In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

11 In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:
He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: Why all Christians must be different from the world.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: How our belief in God should affect our behavior.

RESPONSIVE READING: #601 The Upright Man

Saints, I thank God for each of you and encourage you that we pray for each other.

Bless you,

Pastor W. C. Hill

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 03/06/2011

Praise the Lord Saints! My prayer is that you are all well. This week begins a new quarter preaching /teaching focus on worship. This week we will begin with 1 Timothy 2, as Paul gives instruction to church leaders at Ephesus. Here is the text…

TEXT: 1 Timothy 2:1-15
1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.
8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: Preparation for Worship

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: What it means and how to be good in church.

RESPONSIVE READING: #589 Growing in Grace

MARCH MEMORY VERSE: Luke 4:8…“It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’

NOTE: We have been asked to provide support to the family of Paulette Marie Blake who recently passed. To help this family in time of need is consistent with our church Vision and who we are, therefore we have agreed to host her home going celebration on this Saturday morning at 11 AM. I will be officiating, Ushers are scheduled, her pastor is doing the eulogy, and they are bringing a small choir, we need to supply an organist if we can.

God bless each of you,

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 02/27/2011

Praise God saints...In all things; let’s give God the highest praise, for he is worthy.
This coming Sunday, we will be blessed with the preached word from Rev. Shprecher, as we are moving through the Gospel of Mark, with this week’s lesson from Mark 13. Here is the text…

TEXT: Mark 13:14-27, 31

14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out.
16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
18 Pray that this will not take place in winter,
19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.
22 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23 So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
24 “But in those days, following that distress, “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: How God wants us to be able to see where our journey as Christians is leading.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children to expect God to be there in the time of our trouble.

RESPONSIVE READING: #594 The Christian Hope

NOTE: As many of you know I have expressed the need for a little break, so this week I am trying to get some R&R. Please let non-emergency matters that I need to be involved in wait until next week. Thank you to those have agreed to fill in for me in various roles.

Bless you all,

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 02/20/2011

Praise the Lord Saints! My prayer is that you are all well. This week in the preaching /teaching focus, we are moving forward from were we left off last week in the book of Mark, this week the tenth chapter. Here is the text…

TEXT: Mark 10:35-45
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”
39 “We can,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with,
40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”
41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John.
42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: What it means to be “great” in the Kingdom of God.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: How to be considered “great” in the sight of God.

RESPONSIVE READING: #619 The Beatitudes

NOTE: A big "thank you" for all that helped to make Mother Carrington's home-going celebration a wonderful event. I appreciate you and thank God for you. Our prayers are with the Carrington family.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 02/13/2011

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ…to God be the glory for the great things he has done! In the preaching /teaching focus, we are picking up were we left off last week in the book of Mark, ninth chapter. Here is the text:

TEXT: Mark 9:2-13 (NIV)
2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them.
3 His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them.
4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”
8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant.
11 And they asked him, “Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected?
13 But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: The impact that seeing “God’s glory” should have on our lives.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s teach our children how knowing God should impact their life decisions.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 02/06/2011

Praise God saints...It is my prayer that each of you are fairing well through the snow. A challenging start to winter, but we will make it. Be encouraged.
This week’s preaching and teaching theme is “Assuring Hope: The Fulfillment of God’s Promise.” We are moving to the gospel of Mark and this week’s lesson is from Mark 8:27 – 9:1 and will focus on the identity and suffering of Christ.

Here is the text….
TEXT: Mark 8:27-9:1
27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
31 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
32 He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” The Way of the Cross
34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
9:1 And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: How our understanding of who Jesus is and the nature of his ministry should impact our Christian lives.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children to learn "how to know" and "do" the things that are pleasing to God.

RESPONSIVE READING: #589 Growing in Grace

FEBRUARY MEMORY VERSE: Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (NIV)

Bless you and stay safe...

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 01/30/2011

Praise God saints...Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow and let’s praise God anyhow. For through it all, his goodness and his mercy continues, and we make it through. This week’s preaching and teaching theme will continue on “Assuring Hope: A Future for God’s People.” This week’s lesson is from Isaiah 53:1-12 and will focus on the appearance, suffering, and rewards for the suffering servant. Here is the text….

TEXT: Isaiah 53:1-12
1 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e];
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: A “heads up” on what to expect as a servant of God; such as; need to be different, able to endure suffering, and anticipating a reward (of some kind) for faithfulness.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children to learn how to be different than the crowd (resist peer pressure); willing to endure suffering without retaliation (repay evil with good); expect to be rewarded by God for faithful service.

RESPONSIVE READING: #590 Christian Commitment

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 01/23/2011

Praise God saints! As we make our way through this winter, let’s be mindful that “God is good!” all the time. This week’s preaching and teaching theme will continue on “A Future for God’s People.” And this week’s lesson is from Isaiah 49:1-7 and will focus on the responsibility that comes with our blessings. Here is the text….

TEXT: Isaiah 49:1-7

1 Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.

2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”

4 But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing at all. Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.”

5 And now the LORD says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am[a] honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength—

6 he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”

7 This is what the LORD says— the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel— to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: “Kings will see you and stand up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: Our responsibility that comes from getting blessed by God.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: Let’s help our children to learn how to be nice and be a blessing to others as God has blessed them.

RESPONSIVE READING: #607 Blessings from God

Also note that we have two candidates for Baptism on this Sunday. Bless you.

WORSHIP SERVICE INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 01/16/2011

Praise God saints! We have survived another NE storm and I encourage you to be careful and stay safe. This week’s preaching and teaching theme will continue on “A Future for God’s People.” This week’s lesson is from Isaiah 48:12-21. Here is the text…

TEXT: Isaiah 48:12-22

12 “Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last. 13 My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together. 14 “Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The LORD’s chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon; his arm will be against the Babylonians.[a] 15 I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission. 16 “Come near me and listen to this: “From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there.” And now the Sovereign LORD has sent me, endowed with his Spirit. 17 This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. 18 If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea. 19 Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be blotted out nor destroyed from before me.” 20 Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.” 21 They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ: In this new year, let’s try to give God praise, in all things, for he is worthy. AMEN

We are still focused on the Book of Isaiah, however this week begins a new preaching and teaching quarterly theme. It is “A Future for God’s People.” Here is the preaching text…

TEXT: Isaiah 45:22-25 (NIV)

22 “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, ‘In the LORD alone are deliverance and strength.’ All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.
25 But all the descendants of Israel will find deliverance in the LORD and will make their boast in him.

WHAT THE SERMON IS ABOUT: The path and reward of being found just by God.

SUGGESTED CHILDREN'S MESSAGE: How to cause God to see you as “good” and the benefits of that.

1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honoured in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—
